How to play / How to play

  1. Read the safety rules.
  2. To play in teams of one , opposing players throw from the same end of the playing field ensuring that both feet remain outside the playing structure when throwing.
  3. Each player throws their balls in turn, as follows: player 1, player 2, player 1, etc. Until all balls have been thrown towards the target structure. This is important because you can bump into your opponent's bolas and knock them off the target structure, and therefore, reduce the number of points your opponent scores during that round.
  4. When all 6 balls have been thrown, the round is over and the points are counted. Only bolas that are still hanging from the target structure at the end of the round are counted. At no time should balls be removed from the playing field or structures until the round is completed.
  5. When all the balls have been thrown, change ends of the court and continue playing until one player reaches 21.
  6. To play in teams of two , one player from each team positions themselves a safe distance from the target structure at opposite ends of the playing field. After playing a round at one end, your partner will now play at the other end until what a team reaches 21.
  7. The recommended way to throw balls is to grab one end and gently throw them in an arc toward the opposite structure.
  8. To determine who starts the game, a ball of each color must be thrown from one structure to the other. The player with the highest points for this throw begins the game.

This is important because you can knock your opponent's balls off the target, thereby decreasing the amount of points scored by your opponent during that round of play.
  4. After all 6 balls have been thrown, the round is over and the points are tallied. Only the balls that are still hanging from the target at the end of the round are counted. At no point should the balls be removed from the playing field or target until the round is over.
  5. Once all the balls have been thrown switch ends and continue playing until one of the players has reached 21.
  6. To play doubles , A player from each team is stationed at a safe distance from the target at the opposite end of the playing field. After playing a round from one end, your partner will now play from the other end until one team reaches 21.
  7. The recommended way to throw the balls is to grasp one end and gently throw it in an arc toward the opposite target.
  8. To determine who starts the game, one ball of each color must be thrown from one target structure to the other. The player with the highest number of points in one throw starts the game.

Pointing / Scoring

  1. The game is won when a player or team reaches exactly 21 points.
