Purpose of the Game : Score exactly fifty points by knocking down pins numbered from 1 to 12, throwing a wooden stick (the Mölkky) once per turn. Points are calculated either on the value of the pin if only one pin is knocked down, or on the number of pins knocked down if there are several. Be careful, you must have exactly 50, if you go over, you start again at 25!
Players : 2 or more.
Equipment : 1 wooden box, 12 pins numbered from 1 to 12 and 1 mölkky.
Dimensions : 20 x 26 x 18 cm, 7.75 x 10 x 7 inches for the whole set.
Materials : Made of quality hardwood, oiled finish.
Description : This game of skill and dexterity is of Finnish origin and was invented in 1996 and inspired by another traditional Finnish throwing game, kyykkä.
Mölkky is played outdoors and involves throwing a cylindrical wooden stick (called a Mölkky) at a group of numbered wooden pins. The aim of the game is to knock down the pins and score points based on the numbers of the pins knocked down. The first player or team to reach a pre-set score wins the game.
