Description : The game of Tock is a board game also known as "Tock 6", "Tuck" or "Super Tock" played mainly in French-speaking regions such as Switzerland, Quebec and parts of France. The game was imported to Canada in the 17th century by French settlers . The game of tock is now part of the rich gaming heritage of Canada and especially in the Quebec region. It is often compared to the game of Ludo, the game of Parcheesi or the game of Aggravation in English because of its similarities in game dynamics.
Tock is usually played with four or six players in two or three teams, but can be played individually. Each player or team attempts to advance their pieces around the board toward the goal or home, using cards to determine moves. The game combines elements of strategy, luck, and cooperation between teammates, making it an appealing game for a variety of players.
One of the distinctive features of the Tock game is the use of special pieces called "blocked pieces" that can be used to block opponents or protect one's own pieces. This adds an extra strategic dimension to the game, as players must decide when and how to use these pieces optimally.
Due to its combination of strategic elements and conviviality, the game of Tock is often enjoyed during gatherings with family and friends. It offers an engaging, relaxing, and entertaining gaming experience that can be enjoyed by players of all ages and experience levels as it can be competitive while remaining friendly. Additionally, the social interactions it fosters help make it a popular and accessible choice for group gaming occasions.
Variants : There are many variations of Tock, with rules specific to different regions or groups of players. Some variations include elements such as special cards, different capture rules, or changes in the allowed moves of the pieces. We offer these among others: These special cards are the aces, kings and jokers to leave or leave his teammate, or advance on the board by 1 for the ace, 13 for the king and eat everything in its path and 18 for the joker who is the only one to pass over a blocker (a ball of a player who is on his start and who has not moved). The jack can exchange with any ball in play on the board, except the one on a start that has not yet played, or advance by 11, the 7 can play 7 or be decomposed with 2, 3 or even 4 of its own balls. The 4 always goes back 4 and other versions offer the choice of the 8 to advance or go back. In the Super-Tock version, the 7 can also be used to pass through the center. Now it's up to you to adapt the rules that matter most to you and, have a good game!
